Luxury self catering cottage in Sligo.

This restored 100 year old stone cottage is not just a place to come. It is a place to return to. Its light and privacy allow deep peace and dream-time on the shore of Lough Arrow, one of the most beautiful lakes in the west of Ireland. Nestled in a valley between Bricklieve and Curlew Mountains, Lough Arrow is approximately 4 miles long with several islands, bays and peninsulas. It lies at a distance of 4 miles north of Boyle and approx 15 miles from Sligo. This is one of Ireland’s renowned brown trout lakes with late evening fishing being of particular interest. The Mayfly season is especially well known and begins approx 17th May and continues normally until the second week in June. Fishing is free and boats and ghillies are available on request.

Lough Arrow Cottage is a 2-storey, 2 bedroom selfcatering cottage with bathroom and toilets upstairs and down, a fully-equipped kitchen with electric cooker, microwave , dishwasher, washing machine, coffeemaker etc. The spacious sitting room has 2 fireplaces and a separate dining-room seats 8 guests. Central heating throughout. Rent includes electricity, towels, bedlinen and a once weekly housekeeping service.

An outdoor patio allows for breakfast by the lake or barbecue in the garden from where one may see swans drifting in the inlet and cattle grazing on the far shore. Take the rowboat out on the lake for a gaze at sunrise or sunset or curl up with a book in the long summer light. Walking on the ridge above the lake one may look down on the valley and gaze on the Curlew Mountains. The cloudscapes are spectacular and one understands why many painters have chosen to settle here.
